Sacramento State Alumni Association Board of Directors Application/Nomination Form


The Sacramento State Alumni Association (SSAA) Board of Directors is a group of alumni volunteers who lead the organization in its service to Sacramento State and its alumni. Leadership provided by the Board is essential to the successful implementation of programs designed to accomplish the mission of the Association: “To inspire belonging, create lifelong connections, and amplify pride as a Hornet family through community engagement, communication, and celebration.”

The Board meets in-person every other month to establish policy, develop goals and objectives, assist with long-range planning, and monitor Alumni Association finances. The Board consists of up to 21 directors-at-large who are elected from the membership. Participation is open to all Alumni Association members. Board meetings are usually held on Monday evenings at Sacramento State. You will find a job description for Board Members at SacStateAlumni.com.

We are looking for alumni volunteers with a commitment to Sacramento State and the Alumni Association. Nominations/applications will be considered by the Sacramento State Alumni Association Nominating Committee, a standing committee of the SSAA Board of Directors. An in-person discussion will be conducted to evaluate your understanding and ability to meet the minimum requirements for Board service. The Nominating Committee will recommend a slate of nominees to the Board of Directors for approval. Candidates may also have their application presented directly to the Board by presenting a petition signed by no less than 20 regular active members of the Association.
